Existing password managers might not be as safe as you think

Guide businesses through the complexities of expanding.

Are you using a password manager to keep your online accounts secure? Think again. Existing password managers might not be as safe as you think.

Cyqur, developed by Binarii Labs, was born out of the pressing need to address the security concerns surrounding traditional password manager products in the market. Let's take a closer look at why relying on them might put your sensitive data at risk.

Research conducted by the University of California, Berkeley back in 2014 uncovered some alarming findings. They discovered that 4 out of 5 of the most popular password managers they studied had severe vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities could allow attackers to easily learn a user’s credentials for any website. Shocking, right? It's clear that traditional cloud-based password managers simply don't provide sufficient security for our secrets.

Fast forward to 2020, and the University of York's research echoed similar sentiments. They concluded that current security models for password managers were insufficient and called for more rigorous security measures to be developed.

But it doesn't stop there. Independent Security Evaluators (ISE) further highlighted the vulnerabilities of these traditional cloud products. They bluntly stated that using them was "no more secure than saving passwords in a text file". Ouch. It's concerning to realize that these products fail to deliver on their promises of keeping our passwords safe.

And the verdict from the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany? Equally damning. They found that despite claims of robust protection mechanisms, password manager applications fell short in delivering adequate security. Instead, they leave users exposed to high risks, abusing their confidence in the process.

So, what's the takeaway from all this? It's time to rethink our reliance on traditional password managers. With Cyqur, we're introducing a new era of security and control. Stay tuned for the release on March 29th, 2024, and take back control of your online safety. Don't settle for anything less than the security you deserve.
